How to Buy a Classic Car from Germany as an International Buyer

The order of operations for buying a German-registered classic from abroad: brief, verification, reservation, contract, export and delivery.

Start with a written brief

Define model, period, specification, colour combination and budget in writing before you look at cars. A precise brief lets a broker decline the wrong vehicle quickly, which is where most of your money is saved.

Contract, payment and export

A private-treaty contract records identity, chassis number, price and delivery terms. Funds move by SEPA transfer (crypto settlement is available), and export paperwork is prepared in parallel so the vehicle can leave Germany without delay.
